For those still in town, here is what we are thinking.
Beach walk (9:15am): The early risers — or any still up from the night before! (jk, we are fun but probably not THAT fun) — are invited to join for a beach walk; to join, meet at 9:15am by the top of “Beacon’s Beach” staircase (948 Neptune Ave).
Brunch (10:30-12pm): We will have breakfast burritos and donuts at the house (1036 Neptune) from 10:30am until noon-ish.
Beach Day (12:30-4pm): Around noon, a group will head over to Moonlight Beach for semi-organized beachy activities. We will have some group games — a football, volleyball, spikeball, frisbee, etc. — but also anticipate that some of you intellectuals will prefer to search for umbrella shade with a big book. And we think that’s just swell! Find us and join!
Hiking (mid-afternoon): We recommend the Torrey Pines natural reserve (about 20 minutes’ drive south) for an easy, short, and beautiful coast-side hike. We will connect those interested so that they can coordinate rides.
Dinner (4:30pm): To conclude the weekend, we will gather around 4:30pm at the local institution Tony’s Jacal for a Mexican send-off meal. (You may be noticing a theme in our SoCal food selections..).
All of these events are opt-in: come and go whenever your travel plans require. But for our coordination purposes, it would be helpful if you indicated your plans by “signing up” here.
